Caucasian Women Fashion: STAY THE FUCK OUT OF SHIT YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND AND JUSTIFY IT WITH FASHION OR IT LOOKS CUTE!!!!! (TRIGGER WARNING: I’M PISSED OFF AND THE FILTER IS OFF! I JUST MIGHT SAY ANYTHING AND NOT CARE)
Due to a toothache and a recent transaction that has left me broke for the next two weeks, I’m already on edge. Knowing that, I probably should have stayed my ass off tumblr. But, alas, I’m a masochist. And when I’m really in pain, I’m a sadist. So let’s hurt some feeling for the sake of social justice.
This topic is tricky because 1) people don’t understand it unless they live it. Frankly, I don’t wear WOC’s clothing to know EVERYTHING about it, 2) women of COLOR! As in not White/Non-Hispanic. As in African/Black, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Middle Eastern, Asian/Pacific Islander, for those who do NOT know what the COLOR means. So you already know that is touchy subject on this social network or any network in general. Me being only a man of color, who knows little of what it’s like being a woman (if I truly know it at all), means I have an extremely limited amount of knowledge (which I am know thinking I should have taken a woman’s studies course in undergrad, but I digress) and finally 3) I’m speaking out of rage, frustration, and of course, pain. So, if what I say is kind of choppy, that’s the reason. But in the end, I know who I’m advocating and I know who I’m antagonizing. So please, READ DUMMY! AND I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND! INBOX ME IF YOU DON’T!
Now…Caucasian females on or off tumblr. Let me clue you in on one thing. You’re fucking up. Now it would be one thing if you fucked up and realized you fucked up and did something to change it and to correct others from fucking up in a similar fashion. But what makes this worse is you’re fucking up and you don’t care. Instead, you want to justify why you’re fucking up and your justification is false. Your justification holds no water. Your justification is just as fucked up as the fuck-up you did in the first place.
In short, there is no FUCKING JUSTIFICATION why you are wearing a damn bindi, dreadlocks, hijabs, headdresses, or any other kind of cultural clothing and/or hairstyles. NONE WHAT SO FUCKING EVER!!!
The above articles of clothing among so many others is not a fashion statement. While it is beautiful, it’s purpose is not to be fashionable. The purpose is of a cultural or religious significance, therefore in the respective original wearers’ eyes it is SACRED!
So when Lady FUCKASS Gaga decided to wear a hijab in London, to many of the Caucasians Little Monsters, it was seen as fabulous. To the many Muslim women who wear hijabs, this was seen as a disrespectful.
Here’s another example: The Bedhead vs The Afro (here is something I know)
When you roll outta bed and look in the mirror at your hair that is everywhere, that is what you call…HAIR THAT NEEDS TO BE COMBED AND OR BRUSHED BECAUSE THAT IS NOT A FUCKING AFRO!
An Afro is a hair style. When I had one, I did not roll outta bed like “Oh shit, my messy is hair is already styled.” No, motherfuckers. My mother had to pick and style and shape my head into this
THAT, LADIES AND FUCKOFFS, IS AN AFRO!!!! DON’T YOU DARE CONFUSE IT WITH YOUR BEDHEAD AGAIN AND THINK IT’S CUTE!!!!
Another thing about the Afro! It is a cultural symbol of defiance and Blackness amongst African-Americans during the Civil Rights, Black Power, and Black Arts Movements. Just because you saw a sly brother walking down the block with one back my Grandmama’s day, it wasn’t for fashion. Simple!
In conclusion, I’m sick and fucking tired of seeing this shit on tumblr. Now will it stop because I said this, probably not. But I swear to God, if I don’t check you, someone else will and it’s gonna fuck up your day! Frankly, I don’t have the time, the patience, nor the blood pressure to go around checking White women all day for their negligence of other cultures! As an educator, I can only do so much. I’ll teach a class about it, but it’s YOUR job to understand it. And if you don’t, you can ask someone who DOES understand it. But don’t you sit there and type that myself or other people who feel like I feel are just attacking you! YOU fucked up and it made us MAD! You then apologize when we tell you why you fucked up, understand why you fucked up, and never do it again! Because guess what? When you start to justify it, you’re officially racist! Period!
If you got questions, ask me, or better yet, ask a woman of color who is knowledgeable about social justice issues. Say for instance super-eklectic1, theafrosistuh, or faineemae! They just three of the dopest females I follow that are DEEP in issues of women of color. Follow them! Learn from them! And don’t fuck up no more. One day, you’re just gonna get punched in the throat for fucking up and there won’t be anything you could do about because YOU were ignorant and you didn’t care…
